Eliyahu David Kay, 26, murdered

November 21, 2021- Eliyahu David Kay 26, of Jerusalem, a recent immigrant from South Africa, was gunned down in a terror attack in Jerusalem on his way to prayer at the Western Wall.

 

 26-year-old immigrant from South Africa, Eliyahu David Kay, was murdered in a terror attack near the Western Wall in Jerusalem this morning.
Kay, a resident of Jerusalem, sustained multiple gun wounds during the attack. Despite resuscitation efforts of the emergency teams, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem. Four more people were injured in the terror attack carried out by a Palestinian gunman. 
Kay was born and raised in Johannesburg and moved to Israel in 2017 to volunteer in the Israel Defense Forces, serving as a paratrooper. He made Aliyah following his discharge from the army in 2019.  
Engaged to be married in six months, Kay was employed as a guide for the Western Wall Heritage Foundation in the Old City of Jerusalem. He was shot while heading to prayer at the Western Wall. 
He was laid to rest on Monday at Jerusalem's Har HaMenuchot cemetery. He is survived by his parents, Avi and Devora Kay, two brothers and a sister.
